New Requirements for the Labeling of Quilted Clothing Online in Utah
The State of Utah (USA) has introduced a new regulation affecting online retailers selling quilted clothing. Effective May 15, 2025, this mandate requires quilted clothing products sold online to include a digital textile label on their product landing pages. This initiative aims to enhance transparency in product information and aligns with Utah’s commitment to consumer protection under its Bedding, Upholstered Furniture, and Quilted Clothing Program.
What Is Required?
The digital textile label must:
- Be displayed directly on the product landing page or be accessible via a hyperlink.
- Provide detailed information about the product’s:
- Filling material.
- Identification information (such as the company’s name or Registered Identification Number).
- Sterilization number, if applicable.
These requirements are in addition to compliance with federal standards set forth by the Textile Fiber Products Identification Act (16 CFR Parts 300, 301, 303).
