Sander Brun Schnuchel | From Internship to Impact: Sander’s Journey
Employee Spotlight.
Interview with Sander Brun Schnuchel, our newly appointed Junior Brand Coordinator in Packaging.
Sander’s journey with Trimco Group, from his impactful internship in Germany to his recent achievements in the packaging department in Denmark, highlights his dedication and enthusiasm. Find out about his journey in the company and learn how his role continues to evolve and contribute to our company’s success.
Can you tell us a bit about your journey at Trimco Group (you also worked in the German office)?
I was fortunate enough to get offered a 1-year internship in the German office, which was a really great experience. I had a fantastic time in Germany, where I got to know some great colleagues and developed skills I could use later on in life.
After my internship in Germany, I was offered to continue my journey at Trimco Group, as part of the Packaging team in Denmark as trainee. Although still in the Trimco Group DNA and setup, the products were totally different from what I was used to (trims). It was a nice challenge to get to learn a completely different area of the business.
During my traineeship I spent 3 months in our office in Istanbul. Here I got to see a lot of different productions and meet with our suppliers. This gave me a great perspective, which I use almost daily in my BC role. In addition to meeting many different suppliers, I also met the most welcoming colleagues.
Now I’ve just become Junior Brand Coordinator, and I’m looking forward to many more fun and exciting years here at Trimco.
How do you like working in Packaging? What’s your favorite part about it?
Working in Packaging is exciting and always challenging. My favorite part about working in packaging is the development process. From the idea-phase to the finished product - being involved in every step of the way and being able to share my inputs.
What are some of the most valuable lessons you’ve learned during your traineeship?
I learned to be more independent, both because of my internship in Germany, but also because of the lessons learned in Packaging. I have learned the general processes, from negotiating prices to handling logistical challenges. These have been some great lessons.
How do you feel your role has evolved since you started with the company?
When I started I, of course, needed training and colleagues to help me, but now I’m able to help colleagues as well. Now I have skills/knowledge that can be useful to others.
Can you share a memorable experience or project you worked on as a trainee?
The trip to Istanbul is definitely memorable, and something I will surely not forget anytime soon.
Winning the first “big” project is also something very memorable. Knowing that you have worked hard and for a long time on a project, and then finally being able to celebrate.
How do you see the Packaging department contributing to the company’s overall success?
Packaging gives us another approach towards customers, not all brands are in need of trims, but most brands are in need packaging. Packaging is a huge industry and I really see a lot of potential. We have a lot of brands, where we don’t sell any trim, but sell quite a lot of packaging.
What are your personal goals for the next year in your new role?
For me, it’s important to keep on learning and evolving. Therefore, I think my personal goals are to learn as much as possible while still having fun and enjoying the work.
